Teacher's Assistant
After-School Instructors

Summer Camp program (ages 3-6) seeks Montessori-certified teachers and experienced assistant teachers. Staff will facilitate independence in the children, supervise work/play time, and arrange activities associated with a weekly theme. Must be punctual and attentive, be an effective listener and team player, and implement MCHD training in conflict resolution with children.

Camps run from June 9 th – August 15 th (closed the week of July 4 th). Positions available with various schedules (see below); some meeting and set up time is required for Teacher positions the week of June 2.

Hours for each position are as follows:

(2) Teachers:  8:15 am – 12 pm, 12:45 pm – 3:15 pm (Lunch Break: 12 pm – 12:45 pm)

(2) Assistant teachers: 8:30 am – 2:15 pm (Short break: 11:45 am – 12 pm) 

(1) Lunch & Extended Hours Teacher:  11:45 am – 1 pm, 2:15 pm – 5:45 pm

(1) Lunch & Extended Hours Assistant: 11:45 am – 1 pm, 2:15 pm – 5:45 pm

Hourly pay based on position and experience. Criminal check and references required.

Teaching Assistants

Teacher’s Assistant in Pre-Three classroom with children 18 to 36 months of age. Hours 8:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. weekdays mid-August 2008 to end of May 2009. Training provided. Must be responsible, able to learn Montessori methods. R eferences and criminal background check required; Bachelor’s degree and experience working with children preferred. After School Instructors

Little House After School program seeks After School Instructors for the 2008-2009 academic year beginning August 18 th 2008 through May 29 th2009. In our home-like, electronics-free after-school environment, staff will facilitate indoor/outdoor play, social time, and art & crafts, with extra hours beyond shift times for morning classroom observations, shopping, set-up, and clean-up. Opportunities exist for extended hours on Teacher Workdays and school breaks, as well as substitute hours in the morning programs. Applicants must have childcare and/or Montessori experience and willingness to learn more about MCHD’s practices via in-house trainings and observations.

 Positions available are for Monday-Friday, as follows:
Early Childhood (ages 3 and 4)   11:45am – 4:15pm, OR
Kindergarten    2:15pm – 5:45pm, OR
Elementary (grades 1-6)    2:45pm – 5:45pm
