Welcome to Admissions

We understand that you have a lot of choices when it comes to finding the right educational environment for your child.  If you’re on this page, hopefully it means the information on our other pages appeals to your personal goals and philosophy and you’re ready to consider joining our community.  We want to make that process simple for you!

On this page we share our application requirements, admissions calendar (so you can understand where you are in the cycle) and the ways we invite you to learn more about us as you make this important decision.  Don’t forget to look at our Tuition and Financial Aid page, and our online applications are always available.  We look forward to meeting you!

Visit Our Campus

Classroom Observations: Beginning October of each school year, MCHD welcomes you to observe in our classrooms. An observation provides the best way to see Montessori education in action as practiced at MCHD, and is a required part of the application process. We recommend that you plan to be in the classroom for an hour, and we ask that you do not bring children with you. After your observation, you will be able to meet with the Head of School to answer any questions about the school or the admissions process.Optimal times for observations for Early Childhood and Kindergarten are Monday – Friday beginning at 9:00 or 9:30 am; for Elementary, Monday – Thursday between 8:30 and 11am; and for Toddler, daily beginning at 9:30 am.To schedule a visit, call us at (919) 489-9045 or use our Contact Us page.

Tour and Information Sessions: All Tour and Information Sessions during the 2016-17 school year have passed. Private tours are always included in individually scheduled observations. Please call 919.489.9045 to schedule yours today!

Visiting in the summer?  Even with Summer Camp in session, we are happy to schedule a private tour at your convenience (daily between 9 am and 3 pm) and can show you our playgrounds and ready classrooms.

Deadlines for the 2017-18 year have passed, but limited spaces are still available in our Early Childhood (for 4 and 5 year-olds) and Elementary programs.  At the Toddler level, we also have limited space available for female applicants in the All-Day class.
